Chapter 10
She was called to the temporary office area, and Zhang Zhen pointed to the pile of documents and asked, "How much progress have you made on the task I gave you yesterday?
The higher-ups are demanding that we speed up, so we have to complete everything today."
Zhang Zhen thought that if Qin Zhao summarized too little content, he could take the opportunity to reprimand her and temporarily report the grudge from being tripped up by her yesterday.
But the next second, he saw Qin Zhao take out a thick stack of files from her own folder and said, "I've completed all of it."
Upon hearing this, everyone present was stunned, especially Chen Xiaoyong. He was also assigned a task, but he had much less to complete than Qin Zhao.
Nevertheless, he still had one-third left undone.
Zhang Zhen didn't believe it. He snatched the files and when he saw the first page, his heart skipped a beat. He thought he had underestimated Qin Zhao.
Qin Zhao's handwriting was elegant and upright like pine and bamboo, pleasing to the eye, and the organization was clear and coherent, without a single mistake.
Reading through it, it even had a refreshing effect.
After Zhang Zhen finished reading, he was speechless. If it weren't for the lingering conflict between him, Qin Zhao, and the incident from yesterday when she tripped him, he would have wanted to praise her.
But then he thought of his still-slightly-aching leg and buttocks, and his hatred towards Qin Zhao surged again.
If one move doesn't work, there's always another.
Zhang Zhen glanced at Qin Zhao and snorted, "You've got some skills."
After saying that, he put down the files and hurriedly left.
Qin Zhao looked at his calculating expression and knew he was up to something, but to her surprise, nothing happened the whole morning.
She felt a bit empty inside, but her calm life was disrupted when she saw Zhou Ying's face.
Seeing Zhou Ying again, Qin Zhao noticed that she seemed different. There was no more sarcasm or mockery, and she could even vaguely sense concern in her eyes.
After looking at Qin Zhao for a few seconds, Zhou Ying spoke, "Qin Zhao, Mr. Ye is looking for you."
Qin Zhao nodded, "Okay, I'll go right away."
She stood up and walked past Zhou Ying, hearing her softly say, "Be careful."
Upon hearing that, she paused for a moment and then continued walking forward, thinking that Zhou Ying was showing some concern. At least her words to her weren't wasted.
Upon entering the CEO's office, she found Zhang Zhen, the team leader, Sun Xun, the design director, and Ye Chenxi were all present. Zhang Zhen seemed nervous as he kept wiping the sweat off his forehead with a handkerchief. He never expected Mr. Ye to get involved.
He had originally just wanted to teach Qin Zhao a lesson, but when he was handing the erroneous files to Director Sun, Ye Chenxi happened to pass by and saw them, so the two of them were called to the office.
Fortunately, Mr. Ye's target was Qin Zhao. Thinking of this, his nervousness subsided a bit, and he even felt somewhat happy.
Qin Zhao stood in front of the group, waiting for the others to speak.
Ye Chenxi looked at Qin Zhao, who appeared relaxed, furrowing his brows slightly, and asked, "Do you know why I called you here?"
Qin Zhao replied, "Please, Mr. Ye, enlighten me."
Ye Chenxi slammed a stack of documents onto the table, startling Zhang Zhen and Sun Xun.
He casually pulled out a document and handed it to Qin Zhao, saying, "You did this data on the file, right?
Because the color palette data was wrong, it caused the game screen to be chaotic, and the two-minute-long screen had to be redone!"
Qin Zhao took the document. It was indeed the one she had done, and she looked at the modified part where the error occurred.
With just a glance at Zhang Zhen, a faint glance that sent a chill down his spine.
This person actually intentionally caused this kind of low-level error to frame the entire design team and make them work overtime!
But the fact was there. Even if she explained that she didn't do it, as long as Zhang Zhen insisted it was her, she had no way to refute it.
With things having come to this point, she had to shoulder the blame.
"Do you have anything to explain?" Ye Chenxi asked.
He thought that as long as Qin Zhao yielded, this matter wouldn't be a big deal. But if...
"No."
Ye Chenxi became angry. "You!"
"If you have this kind of attitude, for the company's future development, I can only fire you." Ye Chenxi looked coldly at Qin Zhao, showing no mercy.
Qin Zhao chuckled lightly. "Then let it be."
Seeing this, Zhang Zhen lowered his head and smirked.
Although he felt the punishment was too severe, it was satisfying for him. He wouldn't have to see this annoying woman at the company again, and he would at least live three more years!
Ye Chenxi stood up all of a sudden. Just as he was about to reprimand her, he noticed there were still two idle people present, so he said, "Sun Xun, both of you go out first."
Upon hearing this, they left the office one after the other.
Only two people remained in the room. Ye Chenxi's anger subsided, and he walked up to Qin Zhao. Qin Zhao calmly met his gaze. Ye Chenxi's momentum weakened, and he said, "Qin Zhao, making this decision wasn't my intention. As long as you express your request, I can help you resolve this matter."
Qin Zhao thought to herself that he had intentionally caused trouble, aiding the tyrant. It was ridiculous for him to act like a good person now.
"Mr. Ye, if you really want to know the truth, you can easily find out by investigating. There's no need to ask me."
Before Ye Chenxi could respond, Qin Zhao continued, "I really don't want to continue working at Qiyue Game. Even without today's incident, I would have quit sooner or later.
If there's nothing else, I'll leave first."
She turned and took a few steps, but then she heard a voice behind her, "Stop!"
At this moment, Ye Chenxi finally believed that Qin Zhao didn't have the slightest affection for him; otherwise, she wouldn't want to leave his side so desperately.
But he still wanted to ask one more time.
Qin Zhao halted but didn't turn around.
Ye Chenxi asked, "Don't you have any lingering feelings for me?"
Qin Zhao replied, "No."
Ye Chenxi closed his eyes, suppressed his annoyance, and gritted his teeth. "If you dare to quit the company, I can make sure you won't find a job in the industry anymore!"
In Ye Chenxi's view, Qin Zhao trampled on his feelings for her and deserved to be punished.
Qin Zhao then turned around. It wasn't because she was scared by Ye Chenxi's words, but rather to let him see her disdain for him.
"Mr. Ye, I hope you'll follow through with your words. Otherwise, in my eyes, you're just a petty dog that barks to no avail."
Ye Chenxi was so angry that she trembled all over, while Qin Zhao had already pushed the door and left.
Sun Xun and Zhang Zhen, who were outside monitoring the situation in the office, only heard the sound of things being thrown inside!
The two of them were frightened, afraid that Ye Chenxi's anger would affect them.
As a result, Zhang Zhen looked at Qin Zhao with even more sinister eyes.
Since Qin Zhao didn't have much work to hand over, he officially left the company on the second day after submitting his resignation.
While packing his things, Zhang Zhen walked over and sneered, "Oh, you're leaving so soon. Have you found a new job? If you can't find one, I have a suitable one that I can introduce you to.
With your looks and figure, if you enter the industry, you can at least have this many clients every night!"
As he said that, he held out three fingers to gesture.
Qin Zhao quickly grabbed Zhang Zhen's fingers, pressed down with force, and a painful long scream echoed through the company!
Everyone looked over and silently applauded Qin Zhao. Zhang Zhen had caused enough trouble for everyone!
Zhang Zhen anxiously shouted, "Let go, let go... if you don't, I'll sue you for intentional injury!"
