Chapter 57: Come and Kill Me If You Can!

Yan Qingsi said lazily, “Maybe I accidentally switched it off.”

Yue Tingfeng exclaimed coldly, “Yan Qingsi...”

Failing to open the bottle of water using only one hand, she threw it suddenly onto the ground, blurting out angrily, “Yes, I switched it off on purpose. So? What of it then if I didn’t intend to sleep with you? Come and take me by force if you have the guts.”

Yue Tingfeng’s face turned cold immediately. His almond-shaped eyes turned gloomy, while the corner of his lip was curled upward in a sinister smile.

He remarked languidly, “I suppose this is the only truthful sentence you told me?”

Yue Tingfeng was well aware that Yan Qingsi had no intention of going at all. His guess was that she wanted to play hard to get.

But...

He soon found out that her truest intention was never to sleep with him in the first place.

That woman did not even fancy him at all!

Yue Tingfeng was someone who was accustomed to rejecting other people. It never occurred to him that there would ever be a person who spoke to him in such a straightforward manner.

Yan Qingsi was about to speak, but Jin Xuechu’s voice cut her off before she could do so.

“Yan Qingsi, stop sleeping. Get up. We’re going to shoot the MV.”

She walked over to the balcony and said, “Alright, I’ll get ready now.”

Then, she spoke into the phone, “I have work to do, Mr. Yue. That’s it for now.”

Yue Tingfeng was reduced to a mess when he heard the other man’s voice. “Yan Qingsi, if you dare to hang up on me today, you’ll have to bear the responsibility.”

“Sure, come and kill me if you can!”

Yan Qingsi snickered and hung up immediately. Making a fuss with him over that matter was the last thing on her mind.

She loathed the fact that she always had to lower herself in front of him. The feeling she felt when she saw that face of his was something she hated as well, but the one thing she detested more was how Yue Tingfeng regarded her as a plaything.

Arguments between men and women were not necessarily a bad thing.

She knew how best to seduce Yue Tingfeng, and she was confident in her abilities.

Yan Qingsi would not let her chance go by, especially since he was still very much interested in her.

She was determined to make Yue Tingfeng fall head-over-heels for her, and when it came to toying with men, she had her own techniques.

...

Yue Tingfeng held the phone and saw a notification that the call had ended.

He smiled and licked his lips. “You really did hang up, eh? Well, you’ve got balls.”

He dialed a number. “Find out where Yan Qingsi will be shooting the MV, and with whom. NOW.”

The other end of the line responded with something that made him narrow his eyes. His face—including his thin lips—looked frigid, dark, and thoroughly unemotive.

Then he asked slowly, “You’re asking me how? What do you think?”

...

Yan Qingsi cleaned herself up and changed her clothes. There was a knock on her door, and when she opened it, Jin Xuechu was standing outside. As always, he was wearing a peaked cap, a face mask, and sunglasses—essentials for any celebrity when on the street.

Yan Qingsi asked, “Are we going now?”

Jin Xuechu looked at her from head to toe. “You’re done getting ready?”

“Umm, yeah?”

“Makeup?”

Yan Qingsi used her hand to toss her hair back. “Me? Needing makeup?”

She was forever confident with her temptress of a face.

Jin Xuechu cocked a brow. “Right, you don’t need it.”

“Let’s go then,” Yan Qingsi responded. “I’ll give Miss Mai a call so she can head straight to the studio.”

Jin Xuechu leaned on the doorframe and remarked, “You’re quite ignorant sometimes. In moments like these, aren’t you supposed to invite me in? A glass of water would be nice.”

Yan Qingsi took her bag and closed the door. “Water? Even hot water is a luxury here.”

Ever since she started living there, she has never switched on the fire.

With a shake of the head, Jin Xuechu stretched his hand and lifted Yan Qingsi’s chin. “Why are you such a daredevil? Isn’t it a good thing if you found a man and got married?”
