Chapter 732  : Mingyue Enters the Lord’s Heart (65): Uncle’s Family

Lu Zhaoying didn’t have many opinions against her suggestion. He looked at Shi Liming and asked him to take good care of her.

Shi Liming replied, “Young Master Lu, are you serious?”

With Pan Mingyue’s capabilities, he wouldn’t even be a match for her.

Lu Zhaoying covered his smile and answered, “Alright, I’ll head to the city first. Where’s Uncle Qiu?”

He looked around and didn’t see Qin Hanqiu.

“Mr. Qin went to meet his colleagues, I think,” Shi Liming, looking towards the end of the road.

Lu Zhaoying was speaking to Pan Mingyue as he held onto his keys. He was about to leave when he heard what he said. Shocked, he asked, “What colleague?”

“I’m not sure,” Shi Liming answered, still looking in the same direction.

“Alright, take good care of Uncle, then.” There shouldn’t be much danger here. Lu Zhaoying then left and drove towards the city after speaking for a while with Pan Mingyue.

Shi Liming and Pan Mingyue waited for a couple of minutes before Qin Hanqiu approached them with another middle-aged man.

The middle-aged man was tanned.

His clothes were dirty, and he was even holding a safety helmet.

Even though Qin Hanqiu was wearing a custom-made branded suit, he didn’t despise the middle-aged man. He patted his arm and introduced him. “He’s Ran Ran’s uncle.”

Pan Mingyue greeted Zhou Dajian.

Shi Liming was shocked. He then respectfully greeted him as well. “Hello.”

After being an instructor and on the battlefield for so long, Shi Liming had a certain aura around him.

Zhou Dajian was afraid of this aura.

“Don’t be afraid,” Qin Hanqiu said. “Even though he may look like this, he isn’t good at moving bricks.”

“Is that right?” Zhou Dajian loosened up immediately. He then looked at Shi Liming with a funny expression.

Shi Liming was speechless.

“How’s your brother? I’ve heard that your parents are no longer around. Don’t be sad, your brother is capable as well. Where’s Ran Ran?” Zhou Dajian asked as he looked around for Qin Ran. “Ran Ran left after she became a scholar. The mayor was elated and told everyone. Why isn’t she back?”

Shi Liming remembered that another person that would address Qin Ran as Ran Ran.

“Ran Ran is busy,” Qin Hanqiu answered.

Zhou Dajian replied, “She’ll be graduating this year. It’s expected of her to be busy.”

Qin Hanqiu nodded. He then looked at him and asked, “Why didn’t you come to the capital?”

Zhou Dajian was busy with a project when Qin Ran got married. He just gave her a red packet without attending the wedding.

Qin Hanqiu tried to invite him to the capital a couple of times but was rejected.

Zhou Dajian shook his hand and said, “I’m not coming. You’ve mentioned that I cannot move bricks in the capital. That’s the only thing I’m capable of doing. How would my family survive if we moved there? I don’t have a smart daughter nor a capable brother like you.”

Qin Ran’s information couldn’t be found online, but Qin Xiuchen and Qin Ling were on television before. Hence, everyone in the town knew that Qin Xiuchen had a brother who was a star.

However, they wouldn’t know that Qin Xiuchen belonged to the Qin family. Only the people in the inner circle would know about his family background.

The netizens wouldn’t dare to mention it now.

...

As they spoke, Pan Mingyue’s cousin arrived.

A silver car stopped in front of her, then a lady got down. She checked the photo on her phone and recognized Pan Mingyue. She then asked shyly, “Are you cousin Mingyue?”

She had a ponytail and looked like an obedient girl.

“You must be Xiangxiang,” Pan Mingyue answered smilingly. She had their photos all along and immediately recognized her cousin—Pan Xiangxiang.

Pan Mingyue wasn’t as cold as Qin Ran. Especially recently, she became even gentler. She was even more approachable when she smiled.

Possibly they were related, Pan Xiangxiang liked this attractive cousin already and said, “Sister, you look gorgeous. No wonder my dad commented that I didn’t inherit the good parts of his genes.”

“How am I gorgeous,” Pan Mingyue answered smilingly.

The two of them were close already.

Pan Xiangxiang thought that Pan Mingyue was just being humble and smiled. She was then introduced to Qin Hanqiu and Zhou Dajian.

Qin Hanqiu never appeared in front of the public before. Hence, unless they actually knew who he was, they wouldn’t associate him with Qin Xiuchen and Qin Ran. Pan Xiangxiang didn’t know who he was as well.

“I’ll look for you in a couple of days. I will be drinking with my buddies tonight,” Qin Hanqiu said to Pan Mingyue.

They then went their separate ways at the junction.

Pan Mingyue followed Pan Xiangxiang to their house.

Pan Xiangxiang’s house was some distance away from Ninghai Town. It was a two-story house with its own backyard.

When the car stopped, Pan Mingyue saw an Audi parked outside.

It was a rare sight to see an Audi in a village.

“It belongs to my brother’s girlfriend. Her mom is coming over, and my parents are hosting her. Else they would be the ones fetching you,” Pan Xiangxiang said softly.

She breathed a sigh of relief when she saw that Pan Mingyue didn’t mind it.

She then brought Pan Mingyue in.

When they entered, there were some people in the living room. However, something was amiss.

“Dad, cousin is here,” Pan Xiangxiang said excitedly when she entered.

“Mingyue?” The guy sitting on one of the chairs said excitedly when he heard that. He stood up and walked over. He took a long look at Pan Mingyue and said, “You look exactly the same as your mom...”

Pan Mingyue couldn’t hold in her tears when she saw the tears welling up in her uncle’s eyes. Her mom mentioned that this uncle treated her really well in the past.

“Since you guys have guests, I will be heading off first. We should discuss Pan Ji tomorrow,” the middle-aged woman said as she got up to leave.

She had an aura around her. She was even holding onto a branded bag that looked out of place in the Pan family.

Was this Pan Ji’s future mother-in-law?

Pan Ji was Pan Mingyue’s cousin.

Pan Mingyue was in the investigation industry and could tell from the look on her uncle’s face. She then looked at the middle-aged woman.

Pan Xiangxiang brought her upstairs as she knew what was going on. She said, “Cousin, let’s take a look at my room. You will be sleeping with me tonight.”

When they got upstairs, Pan Xiangxiang told her everything after closing the door. “That’s my sister-in-law’s mom. My sister-in-law is a really nice lady, and she has been together with my brother since high school. They both enrolled in University S together. However, her family seems to run a business.”

Pan Xiangxiang really liked Pan Mingyue and was completely honest with her.

Pan Mingyue looked up quietly.

When she came, she already knew that the Audi must belong to Pan Ji’s girlfriend.

Downstairs, in the kitchen.

“Watch the stove. I’m going upstairs to find Mingyue,” Aunt said with a look on her face.

The uncle sighed and said, “We must endure this for Xiao Jin. She treats you as though you were her mother. If you don’t like the Jin family, we can avoid them. It would be up to the both of them, after all.”

“Xiao Jin is different from her mother. I’m aware of that,” Aunt said as she took off her apron. Her tone changed when she talked about Pan Ji’s girlfriend. “There’s no way I’m going to their house tomorrow. I’m bringing Mingyue and Xiangxiang to the mall!”

“Alright, then.” Uncle compromised.

Pan Mingyue saw that her uncle was having problems with Pan Ji’s matters, but that they were heading out tomorrow. Hence, Pan Mingyue didn’t mention anything about Lu Zhaoying and even asked him not to come.

...

The next day, Aunt asked Pan Xiangxiang to drive, and they went shopping.

Aunt bought so many clothes for Pan Mingyue that Pan Xiangxiang complained that she must be adopted.

“Have you finally found out?” Aunt said after a while.

Pan Xiangxiang was speechless.

Aunt had mentioned that she wasn’t going to attend the Jin family’s banquet in the afternoon. However, Pan Ji’s girlfriend eventually called her.

She thought about it and brought the two girls along to attend it.

The banquet was at Yun Ding Hotel.

It was Old Master Jin’s birthday celebration.

As the marriage between the Pan and Jin families was confirmed, Father and Mother Pan were invited to the celebration.

When they arrived, the place was almost full. Pan Mingyue saw her uncle sitting at one of the tables. However, the table was empty compared to others.

“Aunt, Xiangxiang, Sister Mingyue.” A lady seated next to Uncle greeted them when she realized they had arrived.

“Xiao Jin, it’s alright, go do your business. We don’t know the people in the business world. This place is fine.” Uncle waved and said to her.

After greeting Pan Mingyue and the rest, Xiao Jin went off. However, she had an angry look.

“Don’t be immature. The main seats belong to your father’s superiors. What would they think if we put the Pan family there?!” Mother Jin said after seeing Xiao Jin’s expression. “What if we offend them? Especially Chairman Jiang, your father put a lot of effort into inviting him. Furthermore, the Pan family hasn’t complained.”

“What about my wedding? Are you asking them to sit at the normal seats for the wedding as well?”

Mother Jin took her bag and said, “If they’re unwilling to accept it, they won’t have to attend the wedding.”

Mother Jin left after saying that.

Xiao Jin started tearing up.

She held her tears back and then went to host Pan Mingyue and the rest.

During the meal, only Xiao Jin accompanied them.

Before the banquet was over, someone sitting on the main seats was about to leave. Father and Mother Jin got up, sent him all the way to the door, and said, “Chairman Jiang, we hope you have a great time today.”

They treated the Pan family completely differently.

Chairman Jiang was surrounded by them. He was known to be really strict and unfriendly. However, when he was at the exit, he stopped after seeing someone familiar.

“Chairman Jiang?” The Jin family asked.

Chairman Jiang looked at Pan Mingyue’s table and exclaimed, “Miss... Pan?”

Pan Mingyue looked up and saw that it was Jiang Dongye’s subordinate, but she couldn’t remember who he was and just nodded at him.

“Miss Pan, you should have told me you were here. I will be dead if Young Master Jiang finds out about this. Oh, right,” Chairman Jiang said as he walked over. Jiang Dongye paid close attention to Qin Ran and Pan Mingyue. As he spoke, he realized something and exclaimed, “Could it be... Yun Cheng...”

Something was happening here?

He remembered about the recent bomb in the capital and his heart tightened.
